Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Matriculation (10th Class pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education.
Additionally, candidates must possess domicile certificate of the state against which they apply and knowledge of one of the local languages/dialects of the respective SIB.
Field experience in intelligence work is desirable but not mandatory.
Age Limit (as on 17 August 2025)
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 27 years
- Relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years
- Relaxation for OBC: 3 years
- Relaxation for departmental candidates with 3 years continued service: up to 40 years
- Relaxation for widows/divorced women not remarried: UR – 35 years, OBC – 38 years, SC/ST – 40 years
- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen and other categories as per government norms
- Note: The post is not suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs).
Examination Scheme
The selection consists of 3 tiers:

Final merit list will be prepared based on combined scores of Tier-I and Tier-III.
Exam Centres
Candidates must select five preferred exam centers from various cities covering all states/UTs. The final center allotment and any city changes will be informed through admit cards and official notifications. Candidates should be flexible to appear in allotted centers.
Application Fee
Applicants must pay an examination fee plus recruitment processing charges as below:
- Examination Fee: ₹100 (applicable to male UR, OBC, and EWS category candidates)
- Recruitment Processing Charges: ₹550 (applicable to all candidates)
- SC/ST, female candidates and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempted from Examination Fee but must pay processing charges.
- Fee payment is online via SBI ePay/Net banking/Debit/Credit Card/UPI or via SBI Challan (offline).
- Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.
